Look Book: Chill and Relaxed

I'm not feeling too well today... I'm pretty sure I got a cold from the children I read to in Pre-K at the Elementary School the other day. That usually happens when I'm not around kids for any length of time. Anyways, it was a beautiful day outside- it wasn't terribly hot and it was a little windy. I love to feel the wind in my hair. I felt like wearing a pretty chill outfit- nothing fancy, just relaxing.

Spring Trends for 2012

2012 Spring Trends
                        2012 Spring Trends by xoxambergurl

These are just a few spring trends that I'm currently loving for this year.
Everything is so fresh. I love all the bright colors! It's a refreshing change
from the winter trends with neutral, "non-vibrant" colors. What trends are
you loving this season?

So Polished: Apple Red

This is the most flattering color on anyone. A basic red nail polish looks so chic and clean. Red is such a bold, seductive color. It's eye catching and it's a timeless classic look on the nails. You cannot go wrong with a red nail.

LA Colors- Super Strength Base Coat, & Moody Red, Seche Vite- TopCoat

Look Book: Coral and White

Today I read to a Pre-K class. It went good. They seemed to enjoy the story. Now all I need to do is finish writing the reflection about the experience... I figured I would share with you what I wore to the Elementary School today. Enjoy!

Blazer and Top- F21, Pants and Shoes- Macy's

Look Book: Blue Stripes

I decided to do a little outfit of the day. Today I ran errands- dropped off dry cleaning, went to the grocery store... you know, fun errands. Tomorrow I have to read to a Pre-K class for one of my college courses.  I'll read them "The Little Red Hen." That should be fun. Wish me luck!

Self Tanner

Since spring is here and summer is on its way, I noticed I was getting a little too white from not getting any sun over the winter season. I used to be obsessed with tanning but after learning about all the damage it does to your skin, and visibly seeing the damage first hand, I really haven't been too eager to get back into a bed. Instead, I've started using self-tanner. One self-tanner from the drugstore in particular stands out- Summer Color Self-Tanning Lotion in Deep Dark from Banana Boat. I've used this product several times and have always had great results. It's easy to apply and doesn't leave you looking like an Oompa Loompa. It does have a slight "self-tanner" smell but other than that, I really haven't found anything else wrong with it. It leaves my skin soft and not greasy. I use this all over, including my face and have found it does not break me out. The color lasts for days too! This is what the back of the bottle says: "Banana Boat Summer Color Self-Tanning Lotion gives you a radiant, deep summer tan all year long. The Self Adjusting Color formula lets you control the shade of your tan and allows you to achieve the deepest tan available for your skin tone. The more often you apply, the deeper your tan will become. The lotion is oil-free, enriched with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E to nourish your skin, and tinted so you can see where you applied for a perfect streak-free sunless tan every time."

This is a day after the tanner was applied

Favorites: Heels

I've learned over the years that I have a love/hate relationship with shoes. I really don't like to wear shoes but I love them (if that makes any sense at all?) I love the way they can change up an outfit and the way they make your legs look leaner. They also give you a sense of confidence when you find a really good pair. But I always seem buy shoes and hardly wear them. I get them because in the store they look so pretty and I can hear them calling my name, begging me to buy them. So, of course, I give in. But out of the hundred pairs of shoes I have, these are a few of my top favorite heels!
Macy's- INC, $30?
Target- Mossimo, $30

Macy's- Style&Co., $28
Cato- Cato, $13

So Polished: Teal

I've been in love with teal nail polish lately. It's fresh and eye catching. I especially like adding a little glitz on the ring finger. This color is always in during the spring and summer seasons!
