Comic Book Pop Art- Halloween

Hey guys!
I thought I'd give you an idea of a possible Halloween costume for this year. This makeup was so fun to do and is really easy. I did my regular everyday makeup and used a liquid and gel eyeliner to draw the features on my face. Then, I took bright colored eyeshadow and lipstick to complete the look. I hope you like it! Let me know if you have any questions :)

What are you going to be for Halloween?

Wish List #2

Wish List #2
Hey guys!
Here are a few things I've been dying to get my hands on!

1. Michael Kors Purse- Does this really need an explanation??? It's so gorgeous! It's a classic that will go with seriously anything! I love how structured it looks and I'm a sucker for the gold hardware details. Mmph. I love it.

2. J. Crew Turquoise Bubble Necklace- I've seen this necklace EVERYWHERE and it seems to add the perfect pop of color to any outfit. I especially love the color- It's one of my favs!

3. Oxblood Pants- I've noticed a lot of girls on Pinterest and Youtube wearing oxblood colored pants. I think they are perfect for fall and go with nearly anything. These are a great transition piece and are great for color blocking with fall colors.

4. Jeffrey Campbell 'Lita' Booties- These shoes are bad ass. I feel like you have to have serious confidence to wear these. They make a huge statement and that's why I want them.

5. Personal Microdermabrasion- I've looked at this for a while now. I've seen videos of people who have used this and have gotten great results. I personally love the way a microderm makes my skin feel- it's amazing. The only thing that has held me back from purchasing this are the reviews I've read about it. It seems like it's a hit or miss product. Some people have said that this worked only once before it broke. Honestly, it's not worth the money if it's only going to last me one use. I love the idea of this though...

Still Life Drawing for Art Class

Hey guys!
I've been super busy with school and work lately. To prove to you that I haven't completely forgot about the blog, I decided I would post the picture I had to draw for my art class. lol It's relevant, so it's not a completely random picture but yeah.. just thought I'd share :)

The assignment was to place fabric over different leveled things and to arrange objects on the fabric and draw a "Still Life" portrait. Sooooo, being the makeup obsessed freak that I am, naturally I chose to draw makeup lol.

ON ANOTHER NOTE:

I was thinking of doing a couple Halloween makeup looks. Let me know if you'd be interested in seeing those. To be completely honest, I need a change from the "pretty" makeup looks. Fall is coming and it's a great time to experiment and try crazier, darker makeup! :) I hope everyone is having a good day!!

Eye Poppin' Series: Brown Eyes

Hey guys!

I know it's been a while since I've posted. I've been pretty busy and have been trying to get over this horrible cold that has left me in bed for half of the week. :( I'm doing a little better now, so hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll feel back to normal.

So this is the last look of the "Eye Poppin' Series." I'm glad I actually finished it (even though it was only 3 looks). Yay me! lol This look is for all the dookie brown eyed girls. haha I'm only teasing. That's just what color I say my eyes are. Anyways, for brown eyes, shades of purple seem to do the best at making them really stand out. But in reality, dark brown-eyed girls can pull off almost any color eyeshadow. I think this is a really pretty look that can be worn all year round. Hope you enjoy and let me know what you thought of this series! Was it fun/helpful to you?

First, I applied a matte cream base for my eyeshadow primer. Then, I applied a light purple lavender shade from the top lash line to the crease.

Next, I placed a shimmery highlight under the brow and in the inner corner of my eye.

For definition, I took a matte medium purple/taupe shade and blended it into the crease.

To add more purple to the look, I placed this medium/dark purple into the outer third of my lid and also placed some in the outer third of my lower lash line.

To further define my eyes, I placed this dark purple (almost black) color that has purple flecks in it, into the outer corner of my eye and carried slightly underneath as well.

Next, I added a purple liner to my entire top lash line.

Finally, I curled my lashes and applied mascara.
And this is the finished look!

Eye Poppin' Series: Baby Blues

Hey everyone!
Today I bring you a look best suited for blue eyes. I really envy blue eyes. Ever since I can remember I've wanted big, beautiful, blue eyes. I just think they are so pretty, especially with darker hair. I've even considered getting colored contacts to try and satisfy my want for them... Is that bad? lol I guess we always want what we don't have.

So, on to the look, referring back to the color wheel, the color that is directly across from blue is orange. The most flattering colors to use with blue eyes are coppers, bronze, and browns. These colors look so beautiful across blue eyes and really make them POP!

Now, for the tutorial...
First, apply a copper, golden cream base to the lid to make the shadows look more vibrant. Place this from the lash line to the crease.

Next, apply a shimmery copper shade over the cream base.

Apply a light golden shadow to highlight the inner corner and just below the brow.

Take a matte medium brown shadow and run this shade in the crease using windshield wiper motions.

Next, take a dark brown and apply it onto the outer corner of your lid and also onto the outer third of your lower lash line.

For the last eyeshadow, take a dark matte brown and apply it over the last brown you used. This helps deepen the color of the brown in the outer corner.

Take a dark brown liner and thinly line the top lash line and the outer third of the lower lash line.

Lastly, curl lashes and apply mascara.

Voila!

Blue eyes? I wish...
Let me know what you guys think of this look! I think this look is a great neutral look for anyone.
