Eye Poppin' Series: Hazel/Green
Hey guys!
So if you follow me on Facebook, you might have seen that I got a request from one of my friends to do a series of looks that compliment different eye colors. I thought this was a great idea. So for my first look, I chose to do hazel/green eyes. Did you knooowwwww... that only about 2% of the world's population has green eyes? Pretty cool, huh? Consider yourself lucky if you fall into that percentage :)
For this look, I used pinks and raisin/plum colors. These colors bring out the green in hazel eyes and make green eyes really pop. When thinking about what colors to choose to really make your eyes pop, think about a color wheel. In this case, the phrase "opposites attract" is complete truth. When picking out a shade of eyeshadow, go for a color that is opposite of the color of your eye on the color wheel.
As you can see, red is the color that is directly across from green. Obviously, we don't want to put blood-shot red over the eyes because that would be pretty scary. So instead, go for warm colors like apricot and peachy shades on the lips and cheeks and try warm pinks and plum and raisin colors on the eyes. This is the best way to really make your eye color pop!
Enough talk, lets get down to the tutorial! :)
First, I placed a pinky colored cream base to the lid for added warmth. Place the color from lash line to crease and blend. |
Next, I took a medium toned shimmery pink and added it over the cream base. |
For the transition color, I placed a simple matte light brown into the crease to help the colors blend more effortlessly. |
Next, take a raisin colored eye liner and line the outer third/half of your top and bottom lid. This adds more depth and definition to your eyes. |
Last, the most important step. Curl lashes and apply a couple coats of mascara. |
The finished look! I think it's very pretty. Oh, and SURPRISE! New haircut and color! lol |
Maybe if I had green eyes?? lol |
