My Week in Photos

Hey guys!
This past week has been pretty busy and this upcoming week is going to be hectic too! Throughout the week, I feel like it's important for me to take breaks to maintain my sanity. I have been LOVING Instagram ever since I got my new phone and post pictures all the time! Above are a few pics I've taken this past week.

This week I bought a new purse from Target from the line Merona. I love the structure of this purse and have been wanting a brown purse. Just something neutral and light-colored I could wear during the Spring and Summer time.

On Tuesday, it was mine and Brandon's 4 year anniversary. I decorated a white mug with meaningful pictures all the way around. :)

I also decided to spruce up my phone case by adding studs to the back. I think it turned out pretty cute and it gives me a better grip on my phone... I mean, it's not like I've dropped it four times in the past week or anything... *cough

Lastly, I went to Sephora and picked up a sample of Bare Minerals. I wanted to try this simply because I've heard of so many people liking it. I've tried mineral makeup before and hated it, but figured I'd give this a try to see if it was any different. I will be posting a review on it soon!

I hope you all have a good week and if you are finishing up this semester of school GOOD LUCK! I feel your pain! lol It's getting down to the nitty gritty but just hang in there!

ELF Haul + Update

Hey guys!
I know I've been completely MIA lately but school has CONSUMED my life!!! UGH! I will try to post as often as I can but to be completely honest, I actually need to do a lot of catching up with school work before I can get back to posting on a more regular basis.

This past weekend I did a little shopping and noticed a few new things at my Target and K Mart. I typically hate going into K Mart and really have only gone a few times in my life buuuuuut after watching a haul video from K Mart, I decided to check it out. I went thinking I would pick up some clothes, but as I half way expected, it sucked. Instead, I spent my time in the cosmetics. I saw that they sold ELF and carried a few new items that I hadn't seen at other places. The one thing I picked up from K Mart was the Mascara and Shadow Shied, the rest I found at Target (before I went to K Mart).

I am glad to see more items from ELF pop up at my local stores. I think for the price you pay, it's a great deal! Enough talk, let's get on to the haul :)

Mascara and Shadow Shield, Small Stipple Brush, Small Angled Brush, Jumbo Shadow Stick in Forest Nymph, and Baked Eyeshadow in Enchanted

Funny thing about this is the day before I went shopping I actually placed this in my cart on Elf's website. I'm glad I found it at K Mart so I didn't have to pay for shipping :)

I've wanted a teeny stippling brush to blend out my concealer for a while.

I think this will be good for gel liner and brow powder.

This is Elf's take on the NYX's Jumbo pencils.  It swatched great and I already have an idea for a look I want to do with this.

This color looked so much like MAC's Expensive Pink. I don't actually own Expensive Pink but figured I'd give this a go to see how I liked it. They had several other colors as well.

Here are the swatches of the Jumbo Stick and the Baked Eyeshadow. I wet my finger before I applied the shadow to my hand to get a better payoff (since it is a baked eyeshadow).

Here's a close up. From pics I've seen of Expensive Pink online, this seems to come off as more golden with just a hint of corally pink.

I am so glad they are coming out with more and more products at my local stores. I really do like ELF for the money. Let me know if you have tried any of these products and how you like them. Definitely check out your local drugstores for new ELF products if you haven't already!

Follow me on Instagram, yo! I've been posting a lot of pics lately and it's a great way to see what I do on a regular basis.

Naked Cosmetics: Tropical Indulgence

Hey guys!
I just got back from vacation in Arkansas. It was so neat to see all the beautiful scenery and explore the caves and waterfalls. But now that I'm back I wanted to share  the set of Naked Pigments I won in a giveaway from Jessica from The Mod Mermaid. (Thank you so much Jessica!!!) I have never owned any products from Naked Cosmetics so I was very excited to try something new. These colors are so pretty and perfect for the Spring/Summer time. Below you will see pictures of swatches and a look I created by playing around with all the colors. Hope you enjoy!

Tropical Indulgence- Each stack has a theme/name but each individual pigment color doesn't. It is simply labeled with 1-6

This is the note Jessica sent me with my gift :)

These two swatches are with and without a primer underneath. Clearly, it's more pigmented with the primer.

These are all swatches of the colors layered over the primer

They look much prettier in the sunlight. They are so reflective and have a shiny metallic sheen.

I wanted to play around with all the colors and this is how the look turned out.

Duck face anyone? lol

So far I love these pigments! There are so many ways you can use these. The pink color in this specific set I used on my eyes, lips, and cheeks. There are really no limits to how you can use these pigments.

Let me know if you have tried anything from Naked Cosmetics and how you like them.

P.S.- I just got an iPhone so make sure you follow me on Instagram :)

Drugstore Lipstick Haul!

Hey guys!
I stopped by the dreaded Walmart a couple days ago and decided to pick up a few lipsticks and lip glosses I've been craving. And by a "few" I mean seven :/ Whoops... Every color I bought, I LOVE! I think all of these colors are so pretty and are actually great for upcoming Spring.

Top to Bottom: Maybelline Color Sensational in Fuchsia Fever, Revlon Color Burst Lipgloss in Peony, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink in the Afternoon, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cherries in the Snow, Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in 06, and Wet N Wild Silk Finish Lip Color in Nouveau Pink. *exhale* lol

Here are my NAKED lips for reference :)

I love the gold flecks of glitter in this gloss. It's gorgeous on top of a nude lip!

This shade has quickly become my favorite "go-to" lip color. I've worn it everyday since I've gotten it.

This is a beautiful bright hot coral color. It looks pretty red in this pic but when you compare it to the next picture below, you can see then how coral it looks in comparison.

I originally saw this color on Amarixe (video) and fell in love! I don't know why I've waited so long to get it but at least now I have it.

Unlike the rest of the lipsticks, this one has a very soft glossy feel to it. Kind of like a lip butter. The color pigmentation can easily be built up.

This a a bright cool fuchsia pink! I think I originally saw this on GregoryGorgeous' channel. I think this is a great pop of color for Spring.

BONUS:
I actually bought this gloss yesterday. This is Revlon Color Burst Lipgloss in Bellini. This gloss is really buzzing right now. It seems like everyone has been talking about it so I figured I'd jump on the band wagon too. I love it!

Let me know if you have any of these lipsticks and which are your favorites. Also, what other shades have you been loving lately??

Sigma Shine Eyeshadow Review

Hey guys,
You may remember a few weeks ago I placed an order with Sigma and received this free sample of eyeshadow. I got a comment asking for a review over it- so here it is.

This particular eyeshadow is a part of their "Bare" palette. Although they have recently started carrying single eyeshadows, this shade is not available individually, which means if you want it you have to but the whole palette ($39).

This particular shade is a deep, dark, rich black with mainly silver glitters. It looks like there are some teal colored glitters but on the eye it really pulls the silver.

This eyeshadow is extremely pigmented. A little goes a LOOONG way.

This eyeshadow is pretty buttery so if you don't tap off the excess you will get it everywhere.

When you apply this eyeshadow, it is best to pat it on to build up the color and the glitter. Almost like a base coat, then add a second layer to enhance the glitter.

This color stays on for several hours. The only problem I see with eyeshadow is that you have to do your eye makeup first and then your face makeup because you will get fallout. The only way you could do it the other way around would be to put a tissue or some kind of barrier between your eye and the tops of your cheekbones/underneath your eyes.

Overall, I think this is a beautiful color. I wish they sold it separately in a single form but maybe they will soon. I would love to try their palettes based off of this single shade. I am very impressed and feel like there are so many ways you could use this color.

I hope you enjoyed this review! Let me know if you have tried any of the Sigma shadows and what you think of them.

♡ 23rd Birthday ♡

Hey guys!
If you didn't know, yesterday was my 23rd birthday :) I hate to admit I'm getting older but hey, we all do. Yesterday morning Brandon surprised me with a breakfast FEAST! lol I loved it. He woke up earlier than me to get everything set up. When I woke up about an hour or so later he heard me coming out of the bedroom and said "Get back in there!! You can't come out yet!" lol I guess he hadn't quite finished his set up yet. Ha Finally he allowed me to come out and this is what I was greeted with. :) I thought it was the perfect way to start off any birthday.

The gift he got me was Finding Nemo. And if you know anything about me, I LOOOOVE Finding Nemo! I used to have it on DVD but I showed it so much love that it stopped working. He got me this 5 disc collection so I can watch it pretty much where ever I am.

The next gift I got for my birthday was a pink CHI from Brandon's mom. I feel like I've needed one of these of a loooong time. I seem to have pretty bad luck when it comes to hair straighteners.

Yesterday was such a gorgeous day here, we couldn't resist being outside. We drove around in the car and ended up doing a little "photo shoot." lol (can you spot him in the reflection on the car?)

While we were driving, we drove by all of these trees off to the side of the road. The grass was so beautiful. It literally is the color you see in the picture below. It's that green!!! Ugh. It was so pretty. I knew I wanted to get a picture there so we pulled over. We later found out that it was private property so we had to hurry up and get my picture taken before anyone came out of the house that was about a football field away. :P

Oh yeah, and we bought a snake. lol Brandon bought a Mexican Black Kingsnake as a classroom pet. It's really pretty. I was kinda freaked out to hold it at first but it grew on me.

Even though we didn't do anything crazy exciting for my birthday I still loved it. Sometimes it feels good to simply have a good, calm day :)
