Miley Cyrus on September's Marie Claire- Inspired Look Tutorial

Hey guys!
I was in Walmart the other day and saw the September Issue of Marie Claire with Miley on the front cover and was immediately drawn to it. I picked up a copy and decided that I wanted to do an inspired tutorial on her look. She looks so flawless and beautiful and I couldn't resist. So lets get started!

First prime your lids with an eyeshadow primer like UD Primer Potion. Then, take a bronze colored cream shadow and place on the outer half of your lid and into the crease- leaving the inner corner untouched.

Next, apply a shimmery coral toned shadow into the inner corner.

Next, apply a shimmery taupe into the crease.

For more dimension in the inner part of the crease I added the shade YDK from the UD Naked2 Palette. This is similar to the previous taupe color but has more of a cool tone and contains more shimmer.

Next, apply a reddish-brown shadow into the outer corner and blend into the middle of the lid and into the crease. Slightly blend over the coral shade in the inner corner to blend the two shades into one. Layering the second shadow over the top of the coral shadow will mix the two colors but will leave the warm coral undertone.

After, take a matte dark brown and place along the outer portion of the lash line and a little into the outer V. This will add depth to your eyes.

Next, take a matte skin toned highlight shade and highlight underneath your brows and in the inner corner.
Lastly, tight line the inner rims of your top lids underneath your lashes leaving the bottom waterline bare. Curl lashes and apply two coats of mascara for fullness.

Okay, Okay.. I know it's a little much but why not have a little fun with photoshop? lol

Playing Makeup with Crystal

Hey guys!

So as many of you know, I took a mini vacay and visited with my family. I spent most of my time with my younger sister and had a blast! It was long over due. Every time we get together we act like we don't have any sense. lol Anyways, of course while I was with her we "played makeup" and laughed until we couldn't breathe. It actually took me a few hours to do her makeup but that's only because I had to re-do nearly all of it after I made her cry... Well, I guess let me explain what happened lol.

While we were in the middle of playing makeup I had my phone sitting on the counter next to me in the bathroom and it was set on vibrate. I had just finished putting on her mascara (non-waterproof) and concealer and was in the process on setting the concealer underneath her eyes. I had a powder puff near her left eye when my phone vibrated really loud and scared the CRAP out of me! I ended up jabbing her in the eye with the powder puff and my fingers which made her eyes tear up. She started laughing and crying hysterically at the same time. After she finished rubbing her left eye, she blurted out "AAAHHHH! MY EYE IS STINGING!!!" and started rubbing her right eye, which confused me because I hadn't poked her in that eye. Then, I saw that the mascara I had just put on her was ALL in her eye and running down the side of her cheek. lol Needless to say, we had to take a break from crying and laughing and pretty much start all over.

Anyways, we went to Walmart right before we decided to play makeup and found these cool new colored mascaras from Maybelline. They had teal, blue, purple, and green. We bought the blue and purple colors to try for the night. I loved the way they looked on the eye, but just as a warning- this mascara stings your eyes if you cry. lol

I hope you enjoy the pictures. Let me know what you think! :)

Sunday Social: Fall Season

Sunday Social

1. What is your favorite fall activity?
My favorite fall activity would have to be simply walking through the park or on outdoor trails. I love to feel the cool weather and look at all the beautiful colors of the changing trees.

2. Do you follow a football team? If so which one and why?
I like to watch the Dallas Cowboys the most but probably because I like to watch the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders perform- it reminds me of my old Drill Team days. lol

3. What is something fun about fall in your area?
I think these are in a lot of towns and cities but I like the pumpkin patches that usually pop up around the fall season.

4. What are your favorite fall outfit staples?
I love to layer clothes and wear scarves and boots.

5. What things are you looking forward to most about this coming fall season?
Honestly, the thing that I'm look forward to the most is the cooler weather. It has been blistering hot in Texas and I'm ready for it to cool down. I am also ready to be able to layer cute outfits again. Fall is my favorite "wardrobe" time.

6. What is your favorite fall holiday? Traditions?
I LOVE Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is my second favorite holiday following Christmas. We usually celebrate at our parents house and other family members come over. I just love the feeling of everyone coming together and enjoying each others company. It's a perfect way to catch up with family who you may not have seen in a while. Plus, the food is always great! I love to eat home cooked meals (especially the turkey)- there's nothing better.

Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy in Galactic

Hey guys! A little update on what's been going on:

I've been on a little vacation for the past 2 weeks and I'm back- but not entirely lol I am moving in a couple weeks so I will be busy searching for a new place, packing my things, and getting ready for this new semester of school to start.

On another note...

I saw these new Revlon Moon Candy Nail Polishes at Walgreens and fell in love. The colors are so pretty and fun so I figured I would share one of the ones I bought.

One coat of first color

Second color with no top coat
Nails with Seche Vite top coat
I love the way this polish looks! There are several colors to choose from (I believe it is Limited Edition though.. I could be wrong!) The only down side about this polish is that once it's dried it leaves your nails with a "textured" feeling- it's not a nice smooth finish, which I know may bother some people. Other than that I really like this nail polish. I received so many compliments and it seemed like everyone loved it.

MIA: UPDATE

Hey guys!
I wanted to update everyone since I've been kind of MIA lately. I'm on a mini vacation with my family and have been busy. I thought I would've spent a little time on blogging but I guess that hasn't happened. I've taken pictures of things I want to create posts out of but haven't had the time to edit them and do so. Sorry- I just haven't seen my family in a while and wanted to spend as much time with them as I can :) I truthfully don't know when I'll get back into the jest of things but it'll be soon. Probably next week sometime. Look forward to a review and another makeup/outfit posts.
